Rune Project

June 20, 2025
Mannaz, rune of the divine bond. This rune describes how the Germanic peoples descended from their divine order and defines mankind as the offspring of the gods.

Born from Odin’s sacrifice, carved in blood and silence, the runes have always been shrouded in mystery.
Some say they emerged from the Depths of the Wells hidden beneath the roots of Yggdrasil. Others believe they rose within the mind of God himself during his initiatory rite, hanging from the World Tree, suspended between life and death.

Whatever their origin, runes are not mere symbols: each rune holds a universe within. Each one carries stories, meanings, and echoes of ancient Norse myths. And yet, despite their rich significance, I noticed a striking absence: there are very few illustrations that truly capture the inner essence of each rune.

This realisation gave birth to my project.

Through study, intuition, and imagination, I’ve tried to express the soul of the runes visually. The illustrations presented here are not just decorative—they are an attempt to enter the symbols, to shape the legends they hold. Each image is the result of personal research, a fusion of knowledge and interpretation, of historical fidelity and creative freedom.

“Rune Project” is a journey between symbol and myth, a dialogue between the ancient and the present, between what was once carved in stone and what still has the power to speak to us today.
